Salary packages at USA for all faculty posts (Lecturer, Assistant Professor,
Associate Professor and Professor) are market competitive. For detailed pay

All the advertised faculty posts are on permanent basis. However, for Assistant
Professor, Associate Professor and Professor we also have option for
Tenure-Track.
USA is open to discussion on pay packages. If you are highly competent,
experienced and a great fit for our institute, we would be happy to discuss and
negotiate a different salary package.
Sorry, to be considered for the post of Assistant Professor, you must have
completed your PhD.
Teaching load varies depending on the faculty post. A lecturer and assistant
professor are normally expected to undertake four courses during a semester.
However, the load for assistant professor can be changed depending on the
research work or research student supervisions performed by them. For, associate
professor and professor the teaching load is halved with more focus on research
supervisions and quality research outputs.
For all posts, teaching quality will be evaluated using HOD’s feedback and class
evaluation reports. Research supervision will be judged based on the number of
students successfully defending and timely completing their research projects.
Research quality outputs are judged based on the publication outlet ranking.
The probation time at USA is 03 months.
We at USA follow the eligibility criteria laid down by HEC for faculty hirings
and promotions.
As an employee at USA, you are entitled to 12 casual and 12 medical leaves each
year.
Yes, this can be managed, however we review such cases on individual basis and
decide accordingly
We do encourage that our faculty acquire foreign education. In such a case,
where you get admitted in any of the world’s top 250 universities, you may be
allowed a leave with pay on a condition that you will be bound to provide a
yearly progress report and sign a bond with USA that you will come back and
serve USA for at least 5 years. If you get admission in any other foreign
university other than top 250, we may provide you leave without pay. However,
applications for leave will be reviewed on case-to-case basis and decision will
be made by higher authorities.
We appreciate when faculty members share new course ideas. If you can present a
good case (need for the course, what’s new/important and course outline) for the
course to be included in the curriculum, we can integrate new courses in our
curriculum.

USA provides market competitive remuneration. You will be paid based on the

Yes, you are expected to be carrying out TA duties till the completion of PhD.
No, this does not automatically lead to confirmed employment upon completion of
PhD. However, this certainly provides a path for the employment. Upon successful
completion of PhD, you will be provided with an option to join USA as Assistant
Professor, but this employment opportunity will need to go through the whole
recruitment process including application, interviews, and selection.
Yes, if you can arrange for the consent from a foreign supervisor, you can let
us know. USA will be in contact for supervision remuneration and if the
supervisor agrees to our conditions, we will allow the foreign supervisor to be
on your panel.
Yes, we do provide funded opportunities subject to approval from your
supervisory panel and the university’s research committee.
You are expected to maintain a favorable learning environment for students in a
classroom setting. This would include preparing and presenting lectures on your
assigned subjects. You are also expected to provide one on one session to
individual students and small groups of learners to enhance their learning.
Moreover, you might also be engaged in assisting your supervisors in their
teaching assignments.
Yes, you will be compensated based on the type of work you do whether that be
delivering lectures on your assigned subjects or assisting supervisors.
You will need to contact your department coordinator.
Generally, you will need about 2 hours outside of your PhD work to prepare for a
lecture. The preparation is more about the structure of discussion in a class,
thus being prepared does not mean you would not be flexible, so be prepared but
not over-prepared.
Teaching works will always have strict timelines like submit quiz scores after
three days. So, you should start working the same day on which work was assigned
and not wait for the last submission day. PhD is a journey and try not to keep
piling your PhD work to complete your TA assignment.
